Single A League Championship Game 1 Victory for García\n and Okanagan
The Okanagan Lake Monsters started the Single A League Championship in style today, downing the visiting San Angelo Mustangs at Elks Stadium by a score of 5-2 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Lake Monsters right-hander Miguel García was named player of the game after he threw 8 innings of shutout ball.

García allowed no earned runs on 2 hits over 8 innings for the Lake Monsters. He walked 2 and struck out 10.

"We're happy," García told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."

Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow in Kelowna. The scheduled starters for the game are Kunio Otsuka for the San Angelo Mustangs and Henry Baker for the the Okanagan Lake Monsters.
