|
In a crucial game, the Brisbane Bush Wackers put on their best show, beating the San Angelo Mustangs by a final score of 1-0 today. Graham Bennett earned player of the game honors, as he threw 5 innings of shutout ball. Brisbane and San Angelo are now tied at 1 wins apiece in the best-of-7 affair.
Brisbane took the lead with one out in the bottom of the first when Matt Rank stroked a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0 in favor of Brisbane. For the day, Rank was 1-3 with a walk.
"We're happy," Bennett told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."
The next game is scheduled for Wednesday at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium. Slated to start are Alexis Nunez for Brisbane and Emílio Buenvenida for San Angelo.
