Road Win Lifts Houston to 1-0 Lead in R1
The Houston Sting started the Single A League Championship in style today, winning on the road against the Brisbane Bush Wackers at Baylor Ballpark by a score of 4-1 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Sting right-hander José López was named player of the game after he threw 6 innings of shutout ball.

López, a native of Cuba, was dealing all game. He kept Brisbane hitters off-balance, while giving the Sting 6.2 quality innings. López threw 88 pitches, allowing 2 hits and striking out 5.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," López said.

Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow at Baylor Ballpark in Brisbane. Slated to start are Evan Charnley for the Houston Sting and Alexis Nunez for the the Brisbane Bush Wackers.
