Wolverines, Shamrocks Play 14 to Settle Game 1, Wichita Now Leads Series 1-0
One game in and the Double A World Series is already looking exhausting.

The Wichita Wolverines and the Pacifica Shamrocks needed 14 innings to settle Game 1, with the Wolverines finally taking the 3-2 victory at McCormick Field. Earning player of the game honors in the win was Wichita starting pitcher Luis Hernández, who threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball. The Wolverines and Shamrocks will play a best-of-7 series.

Armando Galdos's hit in the top of the 14th was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a fastball from Danny Posada for a run-scoring single. It put Wichita in front, 3-2.

"Good win for us, tough loss for them," said Galdos.

Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow at McCormick Field. The scheduled starters for the game are Carlos Muńóz for the Wichita Wolverines and Owen Kay for the the Pacifica Shamrocks.
