Texans Edge Rhinos 5-4 to Open R1
|
The Dallas Texans faced a tough opponent in Rubber City Rhinos pitcher Dylan Butlin, but did just enough to pull out a win in Game 1 of the Divisional Round, which they now lead 1-0. The Texans won 5-4 at The Rubber Grounds, despite the Rhinos getting a strong start from right-hander Butlin, who went 7 innings and allowed 3 earned runs.
Dallas relied on the bat of Rodrigo Quiñones to get the win. The shortstop ripped a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Texans ahead, 5-4. For the game, Quiñones had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Quiñones told the Dallas Bulletin.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Rubber Grounds in Akron. The scheduled starters for the game are Damien Sands for Dallas and Bob Ruíz for Rubber City.
