Almost There: Hawaii On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 11-4 Win
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of first baseman Bagaskoro Pakpahan, the Hawaii Islanders got a road win against the Brooklyn Black Knights, 11-4, in Game 4 of the Divisional Round today. Pakpahan went 3-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3 for the Islanders, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 1.
Jesús Solís helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a grand slam home run to give Hawaii a 4-0 lead.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Solís told the Hawaii News. "You win just by scoring more runs."
Game 5 is scheduled for tomorrow at Blue Ivy Stadium in Brooklyn. The scheduled starters for the game are Rodrigo Garza for Hawaii and Fred Price for Brooklyn.
