Islanders Even With Black Knights After Home Win

The Hawaii Islanders got a great start from 34-year-old left-hander Allen Cox, who earned player of the game honors today as Hawaii won the contest 4-1 at Aloha Stadium. Cox threw 7 innings of shutout ball in the win, which knotted the best-of-7 series at 1-1.

Cox, a native of Portland, Oregon, was dealing all game. He kept Brooklyn hitters off-balance, while giving the Islanders 7 quality innings. Cox threw 99 pitches, allowing 4 hits and striking out 6.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Cox said.

Game 3 is set to be played Tuesday, October 11th, 2033 at Blue Ivy Stadium in Brooklyn. The scheduled starters for the game are Norogumi Yokoyama for the Hawaii Islanders and Xiong Yang for the the Brooklyn Black Knights.
