Eureka Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 2-1

Leave it to the veteran.
The Eureka Hornets got a great start from 37-year-old right-hander Walt Lawson, who earned player of the game honors today as Eureka took the 4-1 win at The Nest over the series-leading Mile High Mustangs. Lawson threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball and helped Eureka close their deficit to 2 games to 1 in the best-of-7 series.
Lawson was effective for Eureka, seldom allowing the Mustangs to square up a pitch. The right-hander tossed 112 pitches over 7.2 innings. He limited Mile High to just 1 run on 3 hits.
"We're happy," Lawson told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."
Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow at The Nest. The scheduled starters for the game are Rintaro Shinoda for the Mile High Mustangs and Prabodh Nimbalkar for the the Eureka Hornets.
