South Carolina Takes Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair
|
The South Carolina Bombers got a strong 6.1 innings from left-hander Ángel Ruíz today to take Game 3 of the Divisional Round from the Bloomington Blazers. Ruíz held the Blazers to 1 earned run on 6.1 strong innings. The Bombers took the game by a score of 2-1 and now lead the best-of-7 series, 2-1.
South Carolina took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With no one out, second baseman Jean-Claude Petit hit a solo home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"Ángel is tough when he's hitting his spots," said South Carolina manager Randy Huggett.
Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow at Bomber Ballpark in Columbia. Slated to start are Landy Lu for Bloomington and Ange Schmit for South Carolina.
