South Carolina Win Evens Series at 1

Leave it to the veteran.
The South Carolina Bombers got a great start from 35-year-old right-hander Sotatsu Hayagawa, who earned player of the game honors today as South Carolina won the contest 5-1 at Arson Arena. Hayagawa threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball in the win, which knotted the best-of-7 series at 1-1.
South Carolina designated hitter Zhao-ying Gai helped the Bombers go up, 2-1, in the top of the fourth inning. With the game tied, Gai hit a solo home run off Bloomington pitcher Oliver Romero.
"Things broke our way today and that's great," Bombers manager Randy Huggett said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."
The next game is scheduled for Tuesday. The scheduled starters for the game are Rubén Cabrera for the Bloomington Blazers and Ángel Ruíz for the the South Carolina Bombers.
