Divisional Round Game 1 Victory for Lu\n and Bloomington
|
The Bloomington Blazers powered past the visiting South Carolina Bombers, 3-2, in the opener of the Divisional Round at Arson Arena today. Bloomington starting pitcher Landy Lu threw 8 innings allowing 2 runs, to lead the charge. The Blazers now lead the series 1-0.
Jack Morris, who is rated as the 12th best prospect by BNN, aided the Bloomington cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third. For the game, the third baseman went 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"This was a good win for us," said Lu. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow in Bloomington. Slated to start are Sotatsu Hayagawa for South Carolina and Oliver Romero for Bloomington.
