Cardinals Hammered by Hanson, Fall Further Behind in R1
The Francis Lewis Patriots moved to within one game of the Little League World Series today, downing the visiting Montreal Cardinals at Ottawa HS Grounds by a score of 8-5. Patriots first baseman Bill Hanson was named player of the game after he was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. The win gives the Patriots a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

Bobby Nelson was a key contributor to the win for the Patriots. In the bottom of the fourth with no one out, the light-hitting left fielder stroked a triple to left-center. He went 1 for 3 with a triple and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2.

"We have been clicking right from the start of this series, so our mission statement at the moment is just don't tinker with anything," Francis Lewis manager Justin Easton told reporters.

Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow at Ottawa HS Grounds. The scheduled starters for the game are Seth McBrayer for the Montreal Cardinals and Aaron Coltrin for the the Francis Lewis Patriots.
