Sycamores Hammered by Wilson, Drop Game 5 to Bulldogs
|
Already down in the NCAA College World Series, the Fresno State Bulldogs put on their best show, beating the Indiana State Sycamores by a final score of 10-9 today. Bobby Wilson earned player of the game honors, as he was 4-6 with 2 home runs, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Fresno State now trails Indiana State 3-2 in the best-of-7 affair.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Giovanni Patrick came to bat in the bottom of the 14th. Facing Indiana State pitcher Daniel Farley, he hit a first pitch curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Fresno State on top, 10-9.
"Exhilarating win," said Patrick.
Game 6 is set to be played Friday, May 20th, 2033 at Pit Vipers Ballpark. The scheduled starters for the game are Larry Glenn for the Fresno State Bulldogs and Tyler Petru for the the Indiana State Sycamores.
