The Jefferson Indians moved to within one game of the Little League World Series today, downing the visiting Grand Island Islanders at Ballpark of Monterrey HS by a score of 3-2. Indians left-hander Kyle Simon was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball. The win gives the Indians a 4-2 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

In his 119-pitch effort, Simon allowed 1 earned run on 3 hits over 7.2 innings. He walked 4 and struck out 11.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Simon said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
