Thrice as Nice: Augusta On Verge of Sweep after Walk-off Win
|
The Augusta Rail Riders are now one game away from a sweep of the Wichita Storm after a dramatic walk-off win at Murderer's Row today. Rail Riders designated hitter Joe Gravel was named player of the game in the 7-5 victory, as he went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Augusta holds a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Winter League Championship.
Myles Aucoin chipped in for Augusta with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.
"Things aren't going great right now," Wichita manager Chance Jackson said. "But you don't need me to tell you that."
