Road Win Lifts Wichita to 3-2 Lead in R1
When he got to Wichita, Tony Maldonado was just worrying about staying on the roster. Today, he was starring in the League Championship Series.

The 22-year-old rookie left-hander shut out the host Sedona Sabercats 1-0 in a remarkable performance at The Lair at Sabercat Field today. With the win, the Storm took a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

Wichita shortstop Freddy Ramos helped the Storm go up, 1-0, in the top of the third inning. With the game tied, Ramos hit a solo home run off Sedona pitcher Sergio Solis.

Ramos said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."

Game 6 is scheduled for Tuesday, March 29th, 2033. Slated to start are Ruben Fernandez for the Sedona Sabercats and Gabriel Mullin for the the Wichita Storm.
