Rockville Breaks Through for First Win in League Championship Series; Now Trails 2-1
|
Already down in the League Championship Series, the Rockville Rangers put on their best show, beating the Augusta Rail Riders by a final score of 5-3 today. Stanford Ploughman earned player of the game honors, as he slugged 2 home runs. Rockville now trails Augusta 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.
Fernando Rueda chipped in for Rockville with a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"Feels good to get the job done," Rueda said after the game.
Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow at Murderer's Row. Slated to start are Gregg Smith for Rockville and Alberto Montoya for Augusta.
