Montalvo Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Brooklyn in Walk-Off Win
|
The Brooklyn Cyclones defeated the Framingham Fighting Camels, 3-2, in Prince Fielder League action at Vin Scully Park, with Brooklyn center fielder Pedro Vázquez named player of the game. Brooklyn reliever Kenny Moran picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Vicente Banderas was saddled with the loss. Brooklyn, now 3-1, is setting the league on fire so far.
Fernando Montalvo was the walk-off hero for Brooklyn. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cyclones pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Montalvo. "And not try to do too much."
