Augusta Rail Riders starter Ernesto Guevara was in fine form against the Scottsdale Scorpions at Murderer's Row, leading his team to a 5-3 win. Guevara picked up the win for Augusta, going 8 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 9 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Augusta is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 2nd in 5 games.
The Rail Riders got a big at-bat from catcher Jim Lacy. For the game, Lacy was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Augusta a 4-3 lead.
"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Guevara.
