Fans of the Scottsdale Scorpions who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Scottsdale win over the visiting Barbados Revenge, 4-3. Tommy Brereton started for the home team against Alejandro Reyes. Tommy Brereton earned the coveted player of the game honors. Jose Robles, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 2.2 innings. Tatsuji Kudo earned the save, his 1st, for the Scorpions.

The Scorpions got a big at-bat from center fielder Wil Cruz. For the game, Cruz went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. In the bottom of the eighth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 2nd hit of the season gave Scottsdale a 4-3 lead.

"Tommy's tempo and rhythm were good," said Scorpions manager Marcel Devaux. "He was the key to us winning."
