Toreros Lose to Bombers in Walk Off
|
The Bombers had to overcome a good performance from Cabo San Lucas pitcher Ju-ao Ru to claim a 3-1 win at Bomber Ballpark. Ru went 8 innings and allowed no earned runs. The win was Ed Armstrong's in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Tony Varela took the loss for Cabo San Lucas. The Bombers bumped their record to 51-38 with this latest triumph.
South Carolina won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With two outs and Tony Varela on the mound for Cabo San Lucas, third baseman Ron Verity hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Bombers fans to their feet.
Verity attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
