Big Day by Cannavaro Sparks Grays Win
|
Danilo Cannavaro made an impact in the 7-5 Georgia win over Oklahoma City. Cannavaro, who is rated as the 21st best prospect by BNN, went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 6 runs and scored once. Georgia starter Dao-zi Chou was credited with the win after throwing 114 pitches over 7.1 innings. His record now stands at 3-5. Martin Blank notched his 14th save in 15 chances.
Cannavaro contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Georgia in the bottom of the sixth. With his team trailing 4-1, Cannavaro took a changeup from Caiden Greenshield and stroked the home run to right-center. His 13th home run of the season allowed the Grays to leap in front, 5-4.
"We played hard and won," said Cannavaro. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
Even with the win, the Grays have a dismal 30-57 record.
