Pioneers Lose, 3-0, at Golden Gate Park
Kenko Samurakami could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Vancouver Pioneers lost, dropping a 3-0 decision to the San Francisco Earthquakes at Golden Gate Park. San Francisco is now riding a 4-game win streak.

The Earthquakes got a big at-bat from center fielder Jorge Sandoval. For the game, Sandoval was 1-3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave San Francisco a 2-0 lead.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" San Francisco manager Joe Ward said.
