Centner Helps Patriots Run Win Streak to 4
|
Ross Centner added some punch to the Francis Lewis offense, helping them outmuscle the Santa Clara Vampires, 13-7. In the game, Centner, who is tied for 10th in the PRL with a .633 slugging percentage, was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Francis Lewis is now riding a 4-game win streak.
The Patriots got a big at-bat from third baseman Jimmy Theriot. For the game, Theriot was 1-3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 18th home run of the season gave Francis Lewis a 7-5 lead.
Theriot said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
