Beavers Prevail, 6-5, Over Seattle
The Seattle Sasquatch got a sterling performance from second baseman Francisco Valdéz, but the Beavers still prevailed, 6-5. Valdéz was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He went 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Portland reliever Thomas Kearton was credited with the win, to go to 3-1. António Navarro took the loss for Seattle. The Sasquatch, now 29-57, have lost 8 in a row.

Teruo Sato went 1-3 for Portland. The two-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off António Navarro. It was his 40th RBI of the season.

Sato told a Portland Gazette reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
