Great Day for Phillips in Lancers Win
The Canby Lancers knocked off the Tioga Central Tigers, 12-6, at Ballpark of Villahermosa HS. John Phillips, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Canby won. The left fielder went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The Lancers, now at 34-29, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.

Jason Albright aided the Canby cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the third. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 4 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times.

"We'll savor this win," Phillips told the Canby Chronicle, "then get ready for the next game."
