Panthers Score Late, Stun Park, 6-3
|
The Pitman High Panthers picked up a win at Batfish Ballpark, knocking off the College Park, 6-3. Starting pitcher Jonathan Anderson, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Anderson went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 1, and struck out 11. His record improves to 2-7. The Park, at 30-33, have lost 4 in a row.
Had Matt Hamilton not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Hamilton hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Panthers.
Anderson called the win "a collective effort."
