Great Day for Montgomery in Tornadoes Win
The Kansas City Tornadoes grabbed a 9-5 win over the Quebec Armada at Lucky 7 Ballpark. Kansas City catcher Patrick Montgomery went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 to earn player of the game honors. The winner was Juan Lucero, who threw 97 pitches over 6.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 7 hits. Even with the win, the Tornadoes have a dismal 30-57 record.

Montgomery had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-0 curveball from Morgan Tyson, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Tornadoes a 6-4 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Montgomery.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Montgomery said after the game.
