Big Day by Corbett Ignites Tigers Win
|
Behind a solid performance from left fielder Gary Corbett, the Tenafly Tigers defeated the Derby Panthers, 13-4. Corbett went 3-4 with 3 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 4 times for the Tigers. Tom Falck, credited with the win, is now 4-4. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits in 7.1 innings. Tenafly is now 26-31, Derby 27-30.
Jason Fischetti, who is tied for 9th in the PRL in stolen bases with 8, aided the Tenafly cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the first. For the game, the right fielder was 2-6 with 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs.
In postgame comments to the Tenafly Gazette, Corbett said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
