The Derby Panthers dealt the Downsview Mustangs a 11-6 loss at Managua HS Grounds. Aidan Martins was the star on offense. He went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Jack Warren got credit for the win, improving to 3-2. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 5.2 innings. Derby, at 27-28, occupies 5th place in the Pete Rose League Roger Clemens Division.
Joel Fiebig, who is tied for 6th in the PRL in extra base hits with 31, chipped in for Derby with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder had 3 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 5 runs batted in.
"We came out aggressive," said Panthers manager Daniel Hills. "We came out swinging the bats."
