Figueroa Goes Wild, But Jaguars Win
Pitman High got a terrific game from catcher Carlos Figueroa. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Jacksonville State, 10-8. Figueroa was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. Mark Sparling got credit for the win, improving to 6-4. He allowed 4 runs on 6 hits in 5.1 innings. Alex Bouchard converted his 8th save in 10 tries.

The Jaguars got a big at-bat from second baseman Justin Wray. For the game, Wray was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 12th home run of the season gave Jacksonville State a 8-4 lead.

"We came out aggressive," said Jaguars manager Jeromy Hager. "We came out swinging the bats."

Jacksonville State now has a 3-game win streak.
