Kearny High got a terrific performance from pitcher I-po Liu, but it wasn't enough to beat the Carl Albert Titans. Carl Albert won the Loggers Ballpark contest, 3-2. Liu was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 8 innings allowing 3 runs. Matthew Miller nailed down his 14th save. The Titans raised their record to 23-32.

Rich Berry, who is tied for 6th in the HAL in triples with 3, chipped in for Carl Albert with a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
