Canby Lancers starter Kelly Jayne was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Derby Panthers, 5-4. Canby reliever Matt Westerfield picked up the win to move to 3-0. Nate Taylor suffered the loss. Andy Fitzpatrick earned the save for Canby, his 14th.

Had Bobby Croy not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 1st, Croy hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Lancers.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Croy.

Canby has now won 4 straight.
