Indians Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
Jefferson beat Kearny High at Ballpark of Monterrey HS, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Bill Crabbe, who earned player of the game honors. Jefferson leads the Hank Aaron League Willie Mays Division by 4½ games.
The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the tenth. With Jefferson trailing 2-1, Chris Nutting hit a fastball from Lou Butt to center for a 2-run double. Just like that, the Indians had a walk-off win.
"This place was rockin'," said Crabbe.
