Panthers Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
Despite a great performance by Pleasantville center fielder Ken Howe, the Pitman High Panthers defeated the Panthers by the score of 8-7 at Batfish Ballpark. Howe went 4-4 with a home run, a triple, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The winner was Denis Franco in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Danny Self took the loss. The Panthers, at 28-25, have now won 4 straight.
Seth Day, who is tied for 4th in the HAL in RBI with 51, chipped in for Pitman High with a solo home run in the bottom of the 12th. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.
