Stone Helps Riverside Cruise to 14-1 Win
|
With third baseman Dan Stone leading the charge, the Riverside Poly defeated the Carl Albert Titans, 14-1, at Apollos Ballpark. Stone went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Willard Gibson earned the win to go to 5-2. He allowed 1 earned run on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 10 strikeouts. The Poly bumped their record to 28-23 with this latest triumph.
Tristan Erdahl, who is tied for 2nd in the HAL with a .488 on-base percentage, chipped in for Riverside with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 3 RBI.
