Multi-HR Game for Fiebig in 9-4 Win
|
A 6-RBI performance from Joel Fiebig, who is tied for 8th in the PRL in RBI with 49, helped the Derby Panthers beat the Tioga Central Tigers, 9-4. Larry Sceviour was the winning pitcher. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 1 run on 5 hits, with 4 walks and 7 strikeouts. Nate Taylor got credit for the save for Derby. It was his 12th of the year.
When the Panthers needed a boost, it was the light-hitting Fiebig who delivered. Facing Tioga Central pitcher Mathieu Cantone the bottom of the sixth with runners on 1st and 2nd, Fiebig hit his 13th home run of the year. It made the score 9-1.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Fiebig said.
The Panthers bumped their record to 25-25 with this latest triumph.
