Victory Pushes Patriots Record to 33-17
|
The Francis Lewis Patriots racked up a win at Ottawa HS Grounds, bumping off the Downsview Mustangs, 5-2. Sam Berg, who started for Francis Lewis, pitched effectively for his team. Berg, now 8-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs. Francis Lewis has now won 6 straight.
The Patriots got a big at-bat from catcher Tsuyohi Satoya. For the game, Satoya went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 8th double of the season gave Francis Lewis a 4-2 lead.
