Patriots Bang Out 11-4 Win Versus Derby
|
The Francis Lewis Patriots topped the Derby Panthers by the score of 11-4, with the largest share of the credit going to first baseman Bill Hanson. Hanson was 2-3 with a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times for the Patriots. Francis Lewis is now 30-17, 8½ games up in the Pete Rose League Alex Rodriguez Division.
Mike Plumb hit a run-scoring double off Jack Warren in the bottom of the fifth, which put the Patriots in front, 2-1. In addition to the double, Plumb had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
Plumb told the Francis Lewis Chronicle: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
