Salinas Means Relief, Cy Young Award Winner Saturday, November 6th, 2032 As improbable as it might seem, a reliever can win the Cy Young Award, SINGLE A's top pitching honor. Juan Salinas proved it today as the Barrow bullpen ace earned the Donnie Moore League award after a remarkable season. He posted an ERA of 1.63 with 12 wins, 2 losses, and 21 saves in 43 relief appearances. Over 99.1 innings he struck out 156, allowed 40 walks and held opposing hitters to a .171 batting average. Bob Galloway of the Tree City Black Squirrels finished second in voting, while James Stevens of the Brisbane Bush Wackers finished third. |
