No Hits for Feightner, Streak Ends at 22
Sunday, September 19th, 2032
It was the best of both worlds for the Nichols Gnats today at The Pond, as they defeated the Chippewa River Chiefs 5-4 and also snapped Jim Feightner's 22-game hitting streak. The 21-year-old Chippewa second baseman failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Feightner, we just wanted to win the game," said Gnats skipper Reese O'Higgins. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Feightner frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."

This year Feightner is batting .330 with 75 hits, 11 home runs, 54 RBIs, 36 walks, .435 OBP and has scored 44 runs.
