The future looks extremely bright for José López. At the age of 20, many players are still trying to find their way in SINGLE A.

López has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the Lyman Bostock League Most Valuable Player Award.

"I didn't expect to hit .322 this year, that's for sure," the first baseman said.

The Victoria Vikings star also put up a .380 on-base percentage this year, with 196 hits, 53 doubles, 1 triple, 29 home runs, 129 RBIs and 96 runs scored.

Jun Ogura of the Chippewa River Chiefs finished second in voting, while Lee Brooks of the Chippewa River Chiefs finished third.
