Tanaka Batters Baltimore Big Time
Friday, September 5th, 2031
The Victoria Vikings stopped the Baltimore Blue Claws by a score of 15-4 at Old Bay Park today, with the lion's share of the credit going to right fielder Kichisaburo Tanaka. The 19-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Tanaka said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Tanaka did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Blue Claws.
"Not much that I can say," offered Baltimore manager José Rivera. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Kichisaburo Tanaka hit a three-run home run off Juan Moreno in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a three-run double in the 9th.
During the current season Tanaka is batting at a .347 clip with 11 home runs and 47 RBIs. He has played in 60 games and scored 31 times.
