López Keeps Hit Streak Alive
Thursday, August 21st, 2031
José López of the Victoria Vikings just keeps going and going. The hot-hitting first baseman went 1-for-4 in his team's 13-6 victory over the Boise Bloodhounds at The drakkar and extended his hitting streak to 25 games.
"He is definitely on a roll right now" said a Bloodhounds pitcher. "I thought I made some good pitches against him, but he's a good hitter and hit 'em anyway."
When asked about his performance, López said, "I don't care if I go hitless as long as we get the win." José López grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, walked in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th.
To date, López has collected 144 hits for a .331 average. He has posted 22 home runs, scored 75 runs and driven in 101 runs.
