López Sizzles with 20-Game Batting Streak Friday, August 15th, 2031 Victoria's 20-year-old first baseman José López has had a fine run at the plate over the last few weeks. His consecutive-game hitting streak has reached 20 games now. Today López extended the streak by going 1-for-2 against Mustangs pitching. The streak has brought him a degree of attention that he has tried to deflect. López always prefers to talk about his teammates' accomplishments rather than his own. After the Vikings 6-2 triumph over San Angelo at The drakkar he downplayed his part in the victory. José López flied out in the 1st, walked in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Valentim Carrapa in the 8th. To date, López has collected 134 hits for a .325 average. He has posted 21 home runs, scored 67 runs and driven in 94 runs. |
