Hwang Sizzles in No-Hitter
Friday, June 6th, 2031
The Bethesda Hornets relied on no-hit stuff from starter Kwan-cheol Hwang to defeat the Austin Hipsters 1-0 at Hornets Field today.
"It's quite a thrill," Hwang told the media afterward. "This is a top-notch league. A no-hitter against any team in the league is something special. I can't believe I did it."
To get his name logged in the Donnie Moore League records, he stopped Austin cold and hitless, surrendering 3 walks and fanning 10 of the 30 batters he faced.
Bethesda manager Francisco Solano was in a jovial mode after the game, kidding with reporters that Hwang "made managing easy today."
"I didn't have hardly any decisions to make like I usually do," he said. "I didn't even have to come up with a pinch hitter."
So far this season Hwang has a 2-0 record, 1 starts, 24.1 innings, 31 strikeouts and a 1.11 ERA.
