Jail Birds Manabu Yamauchi Will Miss Season Wednesday, June 16th, 2032 The Jail Birds received bad news this morning. Manabu Yamauchi will miss 10-11 months due to a torn labrum. He sustained the injury in the Newark-Riverside game while throwing a pitch. "I'm disappointed more than anything," he told reporters later in the day. "You can't help your team on the bench," Yamauchi sighed. "I'll do the rehab work and hope for a quick recovery." Thus far this season, Yamauchi has worked 64 innings with 60 strikeouts en route to a 3-3 record and a 3.09 ERA. |
