Ruckus Reaps 2-Game Suspensions
Sunday, May 30th, 2032
Sometimes on the baseball diamond disparaging words are uttered in anger and lead to more than what the players bargained for. That's what happened at yesterday's Jacksonville Hellcats-Riverside Red Bulls game at Hellcats Park. What started off as a war of words ended up a tag team match as both clubs rushed on the field to defend their honor. When the umpires sorted it all out, they ejected Jacksonville's Alonso Domínguez and Riverside's Vic Evans from the game for their roles in starting the melee.
Today the players were notified by the league office that they had been suspended 2 games for violating league rules.
Thus far this year Domínguez is batting .213 with 3 home runs, 18 RBIs and 24 runs scored.
This season Evans has made 7 relief appearances with 2 saves. In 19.1 innings he has fanned 24 hitters and recorded 2 wins and no losses with a 4.66 ERA.
