Bennett Holds Atlantic City Hitless
Wednesday, September 24th, 2031
It was a fantastic day for Marysville Monarchs starter Charlie Bennett and a lousy day for the Atlantic City Enforcers.
The Marysville hurler's pitching artistry completely befuddled and bewildered the Enforcers as the Monarchs cruised to a 6-0 win. When it was all over, Bennett was credited with one of the rarer feats in baseball -- a no-hitter.
"The ball was moving and darting, and best of all, going where I wanted it to go," Bennett said later.
He rang up 9 strikeouts and allowed 1 walk while shutting Atlantic City down at Parliament Field.
This year Bennett has compiled a 6-6 record with a 4.52 ERA in 15 starts.
