Lovelace on Fire: 5-for-6 for Pacifica
Friday, August 8th, 2031
Pacifica third baseman Roy Lovelace had a big day at Red Bull Stadium today against the Riverside Red Bulls. The 22-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led the Shamrocks to a 14-5 triumph over Riverside.
"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Lovelace said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."
Roy Lovelace flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 7th, doubled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
Currently Lovelace has 16 home runs and a .270 batting average.
